July 28th, 2008, In October Boys' Brigade turns 125 years old, to, mark this anniversary of The Boys' Brigade, we will be holding events in Canterbury and New Zealand. Details are now available from our Celebrating 125 years page.

July 21st, 2008, We welcome Merv Bassett to the Staff of BBNZ and Canterbury. Merv is our new South Island Development Manager.

April 11th, 2008, In October Boys' Brigade turns 125 years old, to, mark this anniversary of The Boys' Brigade, we will be holding events in Canterbury and New Zealand. Details will be posted soon.

September 24th, 2007, Camp 125. in Jan 2009 there is to be a Boys'/company camp to mark the 125th anniversary of Boys' Brigade being started in Glasgow. Details are on the camp125 page.

September 1st, 2007, The Battalion Drill competition happened. What a night 5 companies including 2 from outside of Christchurch, it was a close battle in both sections. Results. Novice Drill, 1st. 1st Christchurch, 2nd. 1st Ashburton, 3rd 4th Christchurch. Squad Drill, 1st. 14th Dunedin, 2nd. 1st Christchurch, 3rd. 4th Christchurch.

August 25th, 2007, Team Section Figure marching was held at Colombo St Baptist. There were over 50 boys, A great night was had. Results were. 1st. 1st Ashburton, 2nd. 1st Christchurch, 3rd. 2nd Christchurch. Well done to all.

March 2007, Plaque unveiled at Waipara campsite. During CATAC 07 a Memorial was unveiled in memory of all Officers who served overseas during the war years and to those who kept Boys' Brigade going during their absence.

November 2006, The Battalion is pleased to announcement the appointment of Stephen Dodge as our Promotions Director.  Stephen commences full time during the third week in January 2007.

30th October 2006, At the AGM , Frank Morgan was elected as the President as from 1 January 2007.  Frank is Captain of the Dunsandel Company, Adele (Frank’s wife) is also an officer at Dunsandel BB being the Anchor Boys’ leader. Vice Presidents are Dick Johns and Grant Hill.

Thanks to Bill Lloyd QSM for his outstanding service to BB and Canterbury Battalion.  Bill retires as Battalion President after 21 years, on 31 December 2006.   Bill has served BB for over 50 years including Captain for 16 years, National Executive 15 years.  This year Bill was awarded the Queen’s Service Medal (QSM) for his service to Boys’ Brigade).  Thanks to Daphne, Bill’s wife, for her support to Bill and for her gracious hospitality over the years.

1st August 2006, At the resent BB Roadshow, President Les Bouterey presented Bill Lloyd, David Mardon, Dick Johns, Laurie Garlick and Paul Beaumont with their 50 years service certificate. (click here for photo of 250+ years service)
